Hi, I’m Lara.
I am a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist providing therapy in local schools and a home-based clinic in northern Gold Coast. I am a member of the Speech Pathology Australia association with over 30 years of experience providing speech and language therapy for children and young people. I work with children and adolescents aged 4–18 years across private practice and educational settings, supporting a wide range of communication needs.
Throughout my career, I have developed extensive experience collaborating with teachers, learning support staff and families to help students achieve their communication and educational goals. My approach is practical, family-centred, evidence-based, and tailored to each child’s individual strengths and needs, with a focus on supporting success at home, school, and in the community.
I have a special interest in collaborating with teachers and families to support speech and language skills that enhance academic success.
My Approach
I believe every child deserves therapy that is tailored to their unique personality, strengths, and communication needs. I take a collaborative and family-centred approach, working closely with parents and teachers to ensure strategies are consistent and meaningful across all settings. My sessions are designed to be engaging and positive, helping children build skills through play, connection, and activities that feel relevant to their everyday lives. I combine evidence-based techniques with a warm, supportive environment so children feel safe to take risks and celebrate their progress. Above all, my goal is to help each child develop confidence in their communication so they can connect more easily with others and participate fully in the world around them.
Practical Support at Home
I provide families with simple, practical strategies that fit easily into everyday routines, helping children continue developing their communication skills between sessions.
Building Confidence for Life
My focus extends beyond immediate goals — I aim to equip children with the communication skills and self-confidence they need to succeed at school, with friends, and well into the future.
